National Sports Museum opening

On Friday June 27th, Christian Estrosi has solemnly opened the doors of the biggest conservatory of national sports memorabilia right at the foot of Allianz Riviera.

Along with many French athletes and cultural guests, the gallery has offered over a thousand Nice inhabitants to discover a collection of 45 000 objects and 400 000 documents presented in a new setting of 2 000 m².

For this special occasion, many animations were set up for visitors : a photocall by the stadium turf, bubble football, a running track, a beach volley tournament and a badmington field.

Among the celebrities of the event were S.A.S. The Sovereign Prince of Monaco, as well as Christian Estrosi and Eric Ciotti. There were also some sports celebrities such as the OGC Nice football players, their coach Claude Puel, the swimmer Camille Muffat, the ex-runner Stéphane Diagana and even the ex-ice skater Philippe Candeloro.

Le Deputy Mayor of Nice has reminded:  « a beautiful story that had already started here with Bernard Laporte », who was at the time Minister of Sports. Since then, « the dream has come true: Nice is now has most beautiful showcase of sports in the world ».
