Getaway Day 2021
After the 2020 edition was cancelled in France due to Covid-19, Getaway Day is back in Nice on Wednesday 29 September 2021. The stadium is ready to welcome some 500 children from healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, medical education institutes, special education and homecare services (SESSAD) and patient associations for diabetic children), together with their families for a day of fun.
On the agenda:
- Presentation and initiation in over 15 sports and fun activities: from dance to badminton, football to tennis and handball. Each activity is run by qualified sports instructors and over 50 volunteers working with the association to ensure the day runs smoothly for all involved.
- A backstage tour of the Allianz Riviera set up for match day: the players’ tunnel, locker rooms with Aiglons jerseys ready for the match, the press conference room, and more.
- Meet & greet with champions: Strongly committed to children’s health and happiness, it’s only natural that OGC Nice and its Endowment Fund are part of this event. Famous former Aiglons attacker Marama Vahirua, will be the patron of this Getaway Day at the Allianz Riviera. Now coach at the club’s Training Centre, Marama Vahirua will greet the children in attendance to share his experiences in a special moment. The Club will also provide OGC Nice inflatable structures. Champions of other sports disciplines will also be on hand.
Many other partners actively support the event: the City of Nice, the Allianz Riviera, VINCI, the VINCI Foundation and the National Sports Museum.
